Adverse situations have the ability to derail us and any plans that we had. This might be getting sick, or breaking up with someone, or perhaps a global pandemic that forces us into isolation and rethink how we pretty much do everything.

Resilience is the ability to bounce back from a difficult situation and it is not something we are born with, we learn it. We want you take a moment to think about how you have built your resilience during this time.

1. Have you figured something out by yourself?

Sometimes sitting in a classroom with a teacher means you can take the easy way out and just ask for the answer. Teachers love to help you, it is why we got into the job, but sometimes giving you the answer straight away is not helpful in the long run. By figuring something out and making mistakes on the way, you build your resilience through overcoming a roadblock.

2. Have you found out that you are happy with your own company?

Have you ever just hung out with yourself? If you have, have you had the epiphany that "Whoa"... being by yourself is not that bad? You have actually started to do some things that you would have usually put off?  Resilience can also be formed by finding out the things that you like about yourself.

3. Have you found the power of positive thought?

To build your resilience you need to exercise your brain. Thinking positively is a great way to do that. It allows you to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and evaluate how you get there.
